Apple shows off Replay, an automatic video editor for iPhone and iPad, at press event

During Apple's press event today, the company showed off Replay, a third party app for the iPhone and iPad that automatically edits videos.

The app is developed by Stupeflix, a France-based team. The app allows users to select video clips which Replay then compiles for the user, complete with transition effects. Music can be placed in and the video can sync up to the background track. It can also find smart accent colors, and it can desaturate other colors. The can also create transitions, effects and more. Replay also offers backlighting effects with volumetric lighting which looks really impressive, based on Apple's demo today.

Using Apple's Metal API, the company said that Replay's performance is 20 times faster versus the app accessing just the CPU. Stay tuned as we will continue to cover today's news from Apple's press event.
