Apple had launched a new web tool called Maps Connect that allows local businesses to manage their listings on Apple Maps. Companies can provide additional information about their businesses, such as their email address or phone number. Any updates made should take about a week to show up on Apple Maps and customers can use Siri to search for your businesses so you gain a geo-presence.
In addition to gaining more detailed business listings, Maps Connect could also help small business owners get indoor positioning as well where you can upload your interior venue maps. To qualify, businesses must have in excess of 1 million visitors per year and WiFi along with some additional qualifications.
