Apple began notifying developers today of some big changes coming to app submissions to the App Store. Listed on the developers news portal, Apple will require that all apps and app updates use the iOS 8 SDK and include 64-bit support starting in February of 2015.
Writing against iOS' most current SDK is nothing new, as the company made similar demands for the iOS 7 SDK. What is new, however, is the requirement for 64-bit support.
Though this news is targeted at developers, it will definitely be felt by customers as well, as 64-bit support will open apps up to large performance gains.
