Reeder 3 for Mac coming soon as a free update, will bring along a new look

The third version of Reeder for Mac is on its way, and will be a free update to existing users of Reeder.

Reeder relaunched last year, completely retooled to work with multiple RSS services following the Google Reader shutdown. While Reeder 3 seems to be keeping the app's functionality intact, there are some tweaks to the design, including things like transparency in OS X Yosemite, according to the developer:

There aren't many other details about the app at this time. Aside from the transparent sidebar, Reeder 3 seems to sport a redesigned tool bar that integrates itself more with the theme begin used in the app.

Reeder for Mac currently supports accounts from several services, including Feedly, Feedwrangler, and Newsblur. While you wait for Reeder 3, you can grab the current version of the app from the App Store right now.
