Want to show off your affection for classic Mac designs and iconography? This 3D-printed pen holder is just the ticket.
Ask fans of old-school Macs what a desk accessory is, and they'll tell you it's software designed to run on the classic Mac OS. But this desk accessory is a real thing that sits on your desk and looks retro-cool in the process.
Dutch design firm (and 3D print modeler) Sevensheaven has made available a custom pen/business card holder for your desk that looks inspired by legendary Apple icon designer Susan Kare's "Happy Mac" icon - the same one you'd see when you turned your Mac on in the morning.
The back is the same as the front, modeled with the happy Mac screen, floppy disk drive and even the port for the keyboard cable. It measures 2.598 x 3.307 x 2.598 inches, and is big enough even for an iPhone 4 or 5, though Sevensheaven warns that the sandstone finish is a bit rough (so you might want to have your phone in a case). At $53 plus shipping, it's not cheap, but it's a fun and unique piece of Mac folklore that you can have right on your desk.
