Meerkat update brings comment stream improvements, more

Meerkat, the Twitter-connected live-streaming video app for iOS, has been updated today with several new features, along with video quality improvements.

This update bumps Meerkat up to version 1.2.1 and brings along some improvements to stream comments, allowing users to post single emoji and report unwanted comments. Additionally, users will now enjoy improved video quality and more.

Here's the full breakdown of what's new in Meerkat version 1.2.1:

  • Post a single emoji in the stream comments, and your avatar becomes the emoji!
  • Report comments in the stream to stop trollish users from commenting.
  • Now see total watched vs. currently watching in the stream.
  • Video quality improvements
  • Improvements to saving the stream

Though the app has been hampered slightly by Twitter, this looks like a pretty nice update for a service that rivals Twitter's own Periscope. If you'd like to grab the update, you can hit up the store link below to get started.
