Apple will use department stores to sell its luxurious Apple Watch

Apple reportedly plans to use select department stores around the world to sell its Apple Watch, with construction of a pop-up store already spotted at a Japanese location.

According to photos obtained by The Verge, the company is constructing a Watch store inside Isetan, one of Japan's largest department stores located in Shinjuku. A temporary black box has been set up inside the store with the Apple Watch logo displayed on the side, alongside text reading "Coming soon".

This new Watch store would see Apple situated near brands like Cartier, further emphasizing the more premium products the company will be releasing this year. The Verge reports that the Isetan-based store (pictured above) will open on April 10.

Pop-up stores are also expected to open inside Selfidges in London and Galeries Lafayette in Paris, though this has yet to be confirmed. The store based inside Shinjuku will start selling the smartwatches come April 24 when the watches are released.
