While you've always been able to make FaceTime audio and video calls on your iPad, iOS 8 takes it one step further by allowing you to receive regular phone calls as well, thanks to Continuity. All you've got to do is enable a few settings and you're good to go!
In order to answer phone calls on your iPad, you'll need to make sure that you have an iPhone and iPad that support it. According to Apple, that is any iPhone and iPad that is running iOS 8 or later.
How to answer and make phone calls on your iPad with call relay
- Make sure you're signed into the same iCloud account on both your iPhone and iPad.
- On your iPhone, launch the Settings app.
- Tap on FaceTime.
- Turn On the option for iPhone Cellular Calls if it isn't enabled already.
- Perform the same steps on your iPad as well.
Remember, you must have FaceTime turned On in order to access Continuity Calling. Once all these settings are enabled, phone calls should not only come in on your iPhone, but your iPad as well!
