Instapaper updates with new extension, Handoff support

Instapaper for iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 6.1 with a redesigned extension. Instapaper has also added support for Handoff, along with other enhancements.

The new save extension brings two powerful additions. First, is folder support. You can now save an article to any of your Instapaper folders right from the extension. When saving an article tap the folder icon in the upper right hand corner of the extension after it says saving is complete, and pick your desired folder. Second, the Instapaper extension can now save items offline.

Instapaper for iOS now features support for Handoff. Handoff will let you move from reading an article in Instapaper on your iPhone or iPad to the web app in your Mac's default browser. Other additions include the ability to add an unread count badge to the app icon, which can be enabled in the app's settings.

Instapaper 6.1 is available for download from the App Store right now.
