OWC has launched an update to their Mercury Helios PCIe Thunderbolt Expansion Chassis, adding Thunderbolt 2. This allows the Mercury Helios to handle up to 20Gb/s throughput, double the capacity of the previous version.
The Mercury Helios PCIe Expansion Chassis allows Mac and PC users to make use of many Thunderbolt-capable PCIe cards. It has one PCIe 2.0 x16 expansion slot. Thunderbolt means that you can daisy chain the Mercury and up to five additional Thunderbolt devices together. It features a variable-speed fan for quiet cooling.
The OWC Mercury Helios can be ordered directly from OWC for $299, and will ship in seven to ten days.
